If you plan on packing yourself, we offer advice in all areas regarding safe and secure packing. Below are some general packing tips to help:
- Pack one room at a time. This will help you when it comes to unpacking.
- For efficiency when unpacking, mark all boxes, designating room and details of any important items within.
- It may be useful to keep a record of the number of boxes packed per room, and the location of high value goods. Please notify us of any items of high value.
- Be sure to have plenty of “filling” material (available free from Bray Removals).
- Be sure that the bottoms of all cartons are secured and will hold the weight of the contents.
- Pack heavier items toward the bottom of the box and lighter items toward the top.
- A general rule to remember on box size — the heavier the item, the smaller the carton.
- Put cleaning supplies, toiletries and the kettle in a special box to be loaded last and unloaded first.
- Check with Bray Removals regarding leaving contents in situ e.g. wardrobes and dressers.
- Be sure to mark clearly boxes with ‘fragile’ items.
- Strip your beds and make sure that bedding goes into a box marked ‘bedding’ for easy retrieval.
